Trials Officials, Judges & ORT Assessors
Join the NNA as a
Scentwork Professional
If you're a dog trainer passionate about scentwork, becoming an ORT Assessor, NNA Trials Official, or Judge offers a rewarding way to deepen your expertise and support the growth of the sport. As part of a respected national organisation, you'll help uphold high standards, guide developing teams, and play a vital role in shaping the future of competitive nosework across the UK.
Start Your Journey as an ORT Assessor
Becoming an ORT Assessor is the ideal first step for scentwork trainers looking to guide their clients through the NNA journey. As an ORT Host & Assessor, you'll be able to deliver structured, progressive assessments that introduce teams to competitive nosework in a supportive and professional environment.

It's a fantastic opportunity to expand your services, challenge your clients, and bring fresh energy and direction to your training programme - all while becoming part of a national network of scentwork professionals.

Become a Trials Official
The next step in your professional scentwork journey is becoming an NNA Trials Official. If you're an experienced scentwork trainer with access to suitable venues, this role allows you to host NNA trials across the stages your locations support.

As a Trials Official, you’ll also be approved to judge at Foundation and Pre-Entry levels, giving you and your clients the opportunity to get started in official competition.
It’s the perfect way to expand your offerings, support your community, and take a leading role in the growth of scentwork sport in the UK.
Become an NNA Judge
If you’ve enjoyed judging Foundation and Pre-Entry levels and want to continue your own development, why not take the next step and become an NNA Judge for the higher trial stages?

We’re looking for experienced scentwork professionals who not only understand the sport but also have a genuine passion for supporting teams on their journey. A great judge is knowledgeable, fair, and compassionate - someone who remembers the pressures of competition and can offer clear, constructive feedback that encourages and uplifts.
Help shape the future of NNA trials while growing your own skills and reputation in the sport.
