Becoming an NNA
Trials Official
If you're an experienced scentwork trainer with access to suitable venues and a passion for growing the sport, becoming a National Nosework Association (NNA) Trials Official could be the ideal next step. This role is perfect for trainers who want to offer their clients more opportunities to progress and compete, while also contributing to the wider scentwork community across the UK.
As a Trials Official, you'll be authorised to host NNA trials at any stage supported by your venue. You’ll also gain approval to judge Foundation and Pre-Entry levels, making this a great way to support beginner teams and offer a full journey from training through to competition.
Foundation and Pre-Entry trials can be held in familiar settings like village halls, while stages from Entry onward should be held in more challenging, novel venues to better reflect real-world search environments.
Our self-paced online training course includes a final quiz, submission of sample search area videos, and scoring of trial footage. If your application is approved and you successfully complete the training, you'll be fully qualified to host NNA trials and judge Foundation & Pre-Entry Trials.
If you're ready to get involved, complete the application form below. We’ll review your application and, if successful, get you started on the training. We’re here if you have any questions along the way!
